JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Tom Coughlin strode into the room yesterday to meet the press. Those in the know synchronized their watches for exactly 12 noon.
That's when Coughlin's schedule said he'd be there, so anyone familiar with the Jaguars' head coach knew that's what time it was. Not 12:01, not 11:59, not even 12:00.002. Noon. There is a part of Coughlin's brain directly linked to the atomic clock out in Boulder, Colo., and no distraction like being the star of the nation's hottest sports story could ever disturb it.
