The latest offering from Boston's peculiarly prolific rock-opera community comes from Doug Thoms, a veteran of every Boston rock opera since the perennially popular local production of "Jesus Christ Superstar" debuted in 1991.
Thoms' ambitious "Elektrafire" at the Middle East in Cambridge is a modern rock adaptation of a classic Greek tragedy. He takes on the sprawling tale of the king Agamemnon, whose death at the hands of his queen and her lover is avenged by his children, and manages to effectively condense it into a 50-minute production on a small stage. ...
