Duran Duran was both the most successful and maligned group to come out of the British New Romantic scene. Poster boys for '80s pop excess - flashy videos, model girlfriends, lavish arena shows and matinee idol cheekbones - the quintet sold 20 million albums and inspired legions of hysterical "Durannies" drawn to hits such as "Hungry Like a Wolf" and "Rio."

Duran Duran is now a trio, with three original members having left. The group enjoyed a well-received comeback with 1992's "Duran Duran" album and its hit "Ordinary World." A less successful covers album, "Thank You," followed and then a few years of downtime.
