Just about everyone was screaming last week for Jim Corsi to be airlifted out of Pawtucket and returned to the big leagues. Tim Naehring weighed in on the subject. The pundits and the talk-show sages pretty near cried a river.

Heck, it wouldn't have been a surprise to see Hollywood stars showing up at movie premieres with little "Free Jim" ribbons attached to their tuxes and gowns.

Now, I don't know about about you, but didn't all this hype and hand-wringing virtually guarantee that the pride of Newton would finally arrive at Fenway Park and promptly stink the place out?
