Who ever said Boston isn't a major league jazz town? Any city that can offer Kenny G one night and Myra Melford the next has to rank high on the jazz-o-meter.
Of course, fans of the reedman, who is to jazz what Coffee Mate is to cream, have about as much chance of meeting a Myra Melford follower at the FleetCenter tonight as they do of witnessing a Celtics championship this season.
And fans of Melford, an uncompromising pianist and composer, likely won't run into anyone tomorrow night during her Institute of Contemporary Art show who counts Kenny G's "Breathless" album as a favorite.
All of which is fine. Different strokes and all that.
