HARRISBURG, Pa., Oct. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- On behalf of Gov. Tom Ridge, Secretary of Health Robert S. Zimmerman, Physician General Robert S. Muscalus and Transportation Secretary Bradley L. Mallory today joined members of the Pennsylvania Organ Donation Advisory Committee and an organ donor's family to launch a statewide effort to increase organ donor designations.
"Saying `yes' to an organ donor designation is a simple, yet vital, step in giving others a second chance," Zimmerman said. "This generous gift could give more than 5,000 Pennsylvanians currently awaiting transplants a chance to live a full and active life."
