PROJECT OVERVIEW:
The local PEMEX-GAS, a subsidiary of state-owned PETROLEOS MEXICANOS (PEMEX), recently awarded a sulfur plant construction contract to a Mexican/Dutch joint venture. The partners in the planned undertaking include ICA-FLUOR and STORK of Holland.
According to the terms of the award, the partnership will be responsible for building 5 sulfur recovery plants in the Cactus Processing Center. PEMEX was reportedly adamant that STORK participate in the project because it considers that the company is the only one to have trustworthy technology to design these plants and guarantee a 98.5% level of recovery.
