ABX Logistics, the freight forwarding and logistics unit of Belgian national railways SNCB, is buying majority stakes in three European transport companies and has said it is interested in further acquisitions. ABX said the acquisitions are part of its strategy to become one of the world's largest transport and logistics companies. ABX, which forecast its 1999 turnover at Euro 2.46 billion (USD2.6 billion), is currently Europe's fifth-largest transport firm and among the world's top 10.
