This weekend is it - the perfect time to plant flowering bulbs for spring. If you can't do it this weekend, do it next weekend.
Plant carefully and you'll reap the rewards every spring for years - even decades - to come.
Daffodils are generally the toughest flowering bulbs, resisting deer and rodents, returning each year in all but total neglect as long as they get a little light.
Plant them in great drifts - 50 or 100 maybe, or 1,000 or more if you have a couple of acres and want to make a statement. In a small garden, mass them in fives or sevens at least.
