I write to you concerning the 15th anniversary of the founding of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (Nov. 15). The republic was proclaimed to exercise the Turkish Cypriot people's inalienable right of self-determination.
The entire Turkish Cypriot people of the island as well as Turkish Cypriots living abroad are celebrating with immense joy and pride an important landmark in their history. The Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus emerged out of extreme difficulties to take its rightful place among the family of democratic countries.
