Asia is an adventure in technicolor, an assault on the senses - exotic sights and sounds, spicy food, a rhythm of life with a different beat.
Months after returning, I still replay the images in my mind: the Buddhist treasures of Japan; the palaces and pagodas of Thailand; Cambodia's majestic Angkor Wat, a mystery in the jungle; a walk on the Great Wall of China; sunset in Hue, Vietnam's one-time imperial capital, a scene as beautiful as a painting - dark clouds at the top of the sky, a blaze of pink, then the blackness of the Perfume River, where city lights shimmered and small boats glided by.
I wasn't planning to go anywhere until an ad launched me ...
