Next week, House Republicans will be electing a new leadership. The replacement for Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is all ready to go, Appropriations Committee Chairman Bob Livingston. Given the results Nov. 3, a change of the guard is a reasonable course. Despite the fact that Republicans retained control of both the House and the Senate and are far ahead in terms of governorships as well, the morale-boosting effect provided by a change at the top is sorely needed.
