Carl Daniels retained his United States Boxing Association junior middleweight championship by knocking out a bleeding Floyd Williams in the third round last night in the Fight Night charity benefit boxing show at the Washington Hilton and Towers.
Daniels (41-3) got caught with a right hand near the end of the first round that shook him up. But he also opened up a cut over the left eye of Williams (29-9-1) in the first round and used a series of left hands to keep him off balance throughout the fight. Two lefts to the head put Williams down for the count at 2:10 of Round 3.
