ZERMATT, Switzerland-Just the thought of the towering Matterhorn can make the knees of intermediate skiers buckle.
Not that they could ski it anyway. Its sheer walls are for experienced climbers, and only the best of those. But for many blue-cruiser skiers, the Matterhorn is the Alps, and the skiing, therefore, must be a maze of black diamonds and double black diamonds that could curl your skis.
Wrong. The ski areas at Zermatt are home to some of the best intermediate skiing in the world, and you won't have to ski the same run twice in a week.
Make no mistake, the Alps are about as intimidating as ski mountains get. The train ride alone ...
