Former Vice President Dan Quayle said yesterday that Texas Gov. George W. Bush "made no sense at all" when he stated that his running mate would not have to share his opposition to abortion.
In an interview with The Washington Times, Mr. Quayle said, "It's very important that there should be a philosophical compatibility between the presidential nominee and his running mate.
"The vice-presidential running mate has to share your views. To put somebody on the ticket who is opposing your views makes no sense at all," said Mr. Quayle, who is staunchly pro-life.
