The Monica Lewinsky affair has slipped to the graveyard of American politics, but the deeper question regarding the character of the man behind it all still gnaws at some Americans.
This includes the media. At a recent news conference, reporters asked the chief executive what he would say to an Air Force pilot who questioned his moral authority to serve as commander in chief.
"Well, I don't have to address it to the Air Force pilot," Mr. Clinton told them. "I am his commander in chief, and he swore an oath to the Constitution."
