With a new baby on the way and his 30th birthday recently behind him, Len Contardo made a New Year's resolution to do what he could to avoid getting cancer.
That included meeting with an American Cancer Society nutritionist and changing his eating and exercise habits. He used to reach for a candy bar in the afternoon, but now he peels a grapefruit. Mr. Contardo has incorporated more fruits and vegetables and more fiber into his diet.
Will it help? It depends on whom you ask. Mr. Contardo of Atlanta has some family history of cancer, so in his opinion, fighting cancer with food can't hurt.
