Ford has just announced modifications on the V-8 engines for its 1999 truck line. The company has redesigned the intake manifold and the cylinder head to get more power and better fuel economy.
Ford trucks are equipped with some of the most sophisticated engines in the world, but lately they have been losing the horsepower race to General Motors. Chevrolet and GMC pickups currently offer about 20 more horsepower than a comparable-size Ford engine.
