RICHMOND - Gov. George F. Allen is set to give his chosen successor, James S. Gilmore III, a late push in Virginia's tight race for governor.
Mr. Allen will take to the hustings with the former attorney general once Mr. Allen returns Wednesday from a trade mission in Asia.
"You're going to continue to see a lot of Governor Allen on the campaign trail," said Chris Lacivita, executive director of the Republican Party of Virginia.
While the details are not yet finalized, "he is going to try to give him a boost," Mr. Allen spokeswoman Julie Overy confirmed.
