WILLLIAMSBURG - Shouts of "Vive l'Empereur!" rang in a banquet hall of the Hospitality House of Williamsburg as the Napoleonic Society of America lifted glasses in a champagne "toast to the emperor" last weekend.
The featured speaker was Bernard Chevallier, curator of France's Chateau de Malmaison, now a museum that was the country home of Napoleon Bonaparte and his first wife, Josephine.
The Napoleonic Society's annual meeting included a bazaar of collectible artifacts - and several men circulated dressed as Napoleonic hussars.
