Cal Ripken received treatment on his ailing back yesterday at Camden Yards, and the Baltimore Orioles will re-evaluate him before tonight's game against the Tampa Bay Devil Rays. Apparently, Ripken could miss his first game because of injury, and just the second for any reason, since 1982.
General manager Frank Wren said Ripken is still classified as day-to-day.
"We'll see how he feels when he comes in today and we'll go from there," Wren said.
Rookie Willis Otanez would be the likely replacement for Ripken against the Devil Rays tonight. Utility infielder Jeff Reboulet, limited by a sore heel, already is filling in for injured second ...
