To understand the horror of germ warfare and why Iraq's Saddam Hussein is a menace to his neighbors if not the world, listen to the dreadful story of the death of Elizabeth R. Griffin, the 22-year-old researcher at the Yerkes Regional Primate Center, a branch of Emory University's medical school in Atlanta.
Death came to Miss Griffin Dec. 10 after a six-week illness from complications induced by the herpes-B virus in a tiny drop of fluid flung into her face by an infected rhesus monkey.
