Despite its title, not exactly the most inviting handle in the annals of screenwriting, "The Locusts" is eventually preoccupied not with potentially pesky insects, but with castrated bulls and suffering studs. In fact, so many castrations allegedly are performed just out of camera range during the most excruciating semidocumentary interludes that it's tempting to replace the old star rating system with something more appropriate for this cockamamie context.
