Davis set to resume batting practice.(Sports)(Baseball)

BALTIMORE - Exactly 10 weeks after undergoing surgery to remove a cancerous tumor from his colon, Eric Davis returned to Camden Yards yesterday, soaking up the home atmosphere and saying he plans to begin taking batting practice today.

The surgical incision on his side has essentially healed and Davis says he has felt minimal effects from the first six weeks of chemotherapy. He is eyeing an early-September return to the field.

"For me right now, it's just a matter of getting my stamina back," said Davis, who sat on the Orioles bench in full uniform during last night's game against the Minnesota Twins. "This is a team, and I'm just a small part of it. I just hope ...
