For the second straight day, Tiger Woods' golf game was washed out by thunderstorms at the 97th U.S. Open. And although he had escaped with little damage Friday when play resumed, his poor post-rain effort yesterday probably cost him a shot at the Grand Slam.
Woods was 3-over through 16 holes on Congressional Country Club's Blue Course and will complete his third round starting at 7 a.m. today. He began the day 1-over but now sits eight shots behind leader Jeff Maggert, whose 4-under through 14 holes all but eliminated Tiger.
