Germany's new capital, Berlin, is bustling with visitors these days. Split in two by the grim Berlin Wall for nearly 30 years and visited in that time only by the most intrepid of travelers from the West, it is now welcoming curious tourists from everywhere who are coming to see its rebirth.
New government buildings, new hotels and business complexes are rising. Its more than 2,000 construction sites can make it difficult to see Berlin by car or on foot, however.
