Hollywood's first fan, who often hosts double features in the White House theater, is angry that a new movie improperly uses footage of a Rose Garden press conference, but that won't stop President Clinton from seeing "Contact."
"Oh, he'll still see it," said an aide.
In what has turned into a publicity director's dream, the White House has protested Warner Bros. Inc.'s use of the president in the Jodie Foster movie about alien invaders.
Counsel Charles F.C. Ruff, in a letter to "Contact" director Robert Zemeckis, heatedly argued that film clips in the movie "violate the White House policy" regarding use of the president's image.
