Teen-agers allied with the True Love Waits campaign posted cards in public schools across the country yesterday, pledging to be sexually abstinent until marriage.
"We are trying to show the community and the school how many kids are willing to wait until marriage," said Kimberley Pavlischek, a 16-year-old junior at Stratford High School in Goose Creek, S.C., where about 50 signed True Love Waits pledge cards were put on display.
Promoting the True Love Waits message will add a new dimension to Valentine's Day, said the Rev. Richard Ross, the Tennessee youth pastor who helped initiate the campaign in 1993.
