George Burns and Gracie Allen were an actively popular comedy team for about 35 years. Also husband and wife during much of that period, they were aging gracefully when Allen retired in 1958.
They will probably continue to age gracefully in recorded memory. The basic appeal of Burns and Allen is unlikely to fade in the wake of Burns' recent death, at the age of 100. Indeed, it tends to be reanimated whenever one encounters one of their movie appearances, not to mention random episodes of their radio and television shows.
