Mario Van Peebles has come to town to promote his new cyborg action movie, "Solo," which opens in area theaters today. But he can't resist talking about the bigger picture - the climate in Hollywood for black actors.
"There's been a lot of changes in Hollywood, and it's been interesting to be a part of making some of those changes happen," the actor and director says.
He isn't the least bit shy to include himself in the triad of black directors (the others being John Singleton and Spike Lee) whom he considers to be most responsible for the latest resurgence of blacks in films.
