For the first time, term limits appear to be getting a serious look for Montgomery County Council members.
But it's too early to tell whether the idea will catch fire with county voters as it has in several other Maryland jurisdictions in recent years.
An ad hoc Montgomery County group known as the Term Limits Committee, organized by former Republican council candidate William J. Skinner, has begun circulating petitions in an effort to get the 10,000 voter signatures necessary to place a measure limiting council terms on the November ballot.
