They had to deal with the weather, the opening of the Washington Redskins' training camp and the Olympic Games in Atlanta. Still, officials of the Legg Mason Tennis Classic were pleased overall at how the tournament ended up.
When the tournament began, Legg Mason organizers were elated that Andre Agassi decided to play in the District. Having Jim Courier and Michael Chang there didn't hurt, either.
