The National Congress of Parents and Teachers - commonly called the national PTA - seems a lot less friendly to parents these days.
Some see it as a foe, unresponsive and downright nasty at times to parents who question the policies and positions of a 6.8-million-member organization that for some time has been marching in lock step with the teachers unions to battle school choice and privatization.
