Senate Majority Leader Bob Dole and three other senators have written to President Clinton expressing "outrage" that U.S. troops in Bosnia are allowing indicted war criminals to move freely about the countryside.
The president was asked to clarify U.S. policy on war criminals in the letter, signed by Sens. Joseph I. Lieberman, Connecticut Democrat; Orrin G. Hatch, Utah Republican; and Jesse Helms, N.C. Republican, as well as Mr. Dole.
The senators were reacting to press reports that Radovan Karadzic, the Bosnian Serb political leader and an indicted war criminal, had passed unimpeded through NATO checkpoints, at least two of which were manned by ...
