The Hollywood rich and powerful, media moguls, labor unions, Indian tribes, an Indonesian businessman and even a Buddhist temple supervisor gave big bucks to the Democratic National Committee as the campaign swung into its last month, according to DNC documents released yesterday.
Among the $10.1 million in contributions to the DNC was $1,500 from Hsui Chu Lin, an employee of the Hsi Lai Buddhist Temple in Los Angeles. The temple was the site of a fund-raiser for Vice President Al Gore that led to a flap about the solicitation and acceptance of questionable contributions.
