The Secret Service abruptly curbed access to its list of White House pass holders recently amid concern over misuse of its sensitive information, according to newly released documents.
The policy change came as the White House was grappling with the FBI files dispute, in which White House security aides and Clinton friends were accused of rummaging through secret files of former Bush and Reagan aides.
The General Accounting Office at the time was also raising questions about inadequate security protection of the tax-funded 350,000-name White House database that has been linked to the Democratic fund-raising scandal.
