Martial arts are more than just a sharp kick in the chin. Martial artists were all over the Washington Hilton yesterday proving it.
Ken Harvey, a Redskins linebacker, pursues it for lessons in how to achieve goals in real life. "It teaches you more than punching and kicking," he says.
The linebacker is one of nearly 350 black belts, masters and grand masters in town for the inaugural world convention of the Martial Arts Federation for World Peace. Participants came from 100 nations, representing dozens of martial arts styles and disciplines.
