It's the middle of winter and I'm writing about cooling systems. Has my brain frozen up? I hope not. The cooling system in your car or truck does a lot more than just keep the engine cool when the weather is hot. It is important in cold weather as well.
A more accurate name for the cooling system would be something like a temperature stabilization system or optimum temperature system. The point is, the cooling system also has a job in winter; it has to bring the engine up to operating temperature as quickly as possible and then maintain that temperature so the engine runs efficiently.
