D.C. von Goetze ("Editorial shows appalling ignorance about global warming," Letters, Jan. 19) is condescendingly critical of a Jan. 11 Washington Times editorial of "profound ignorance" that dared to question global warming.
Mr. von Goetze is impressed by scientific assessment and the collective wisdom of climate experts and intergovernmental panels. He writes that the evidence for global warming is one of the "basic facts regarding climate change" that others need to grasp before making public comments.
It may be worth reminding Mr. von Goetze that such experts and panels made similar pronouncements only 20 years ago about global cooling. In ...
