CHICAGO - Elizabeth Dole. Not! Mrs. Dole emphasized the personal in San Diego. Hillary Rodham Clinton couldn't risk that in Chicago. So she emphasized policy. If anyone thought she was going to take a seat in the bleachers for her husband's second administration, she dispelled all doubts.
She's going to stand by her man. No mention of a co-presidency, but she's not going to stay home and bake cookies. Fair enough. She told us where we stand with her. She failed to reform health care the first time around, but, like her husband, she's learned: If at first you don't succeed, figure out a way to re-package and freshen up the label.
