Maryland officials have every right to be proud of the ever-increasing number of nesting eagles in the state. A "new state record," said an official fax message from Annapolis, which is bit redundant because anytime you set a record, it's new. All the same, we should all be delighted to learn that this year wildlife biologists have documented 201 nesting pairs of bald eagles in 18 Maryland counties. Three cheers for the eagles!
