Thousands of weary Rwandan refugees trekked for miles to cross the border from Tanzania and return home yesterday, while a 10-mile-long column of more than 110,000 more refugees prepared to cross today, aid workers said.
"People are very tired, very weary. They have been walking for about 20 kilometers and have another 20 kilometers to go before they reach a transit center and get some rest," said James Addis, communications officer for World Vision, by satellite telephone from Rwanda.
