"He is an excellent musician," legendary drummer Elvin Jones says, commenting on tenor saxophonist Jovan Jackson. "And his stature grows day by day."
More definitely can be said about Mr. Jackson's artistry, but it is best to see and hear him in performance. Mr. Jackson is appearing with Mr. Jones' Jazz Machine at Blues Alley through tomorrow.
This won't be the first time the two musicians have performed together.
"Still, it's always like the first time when you play with Elvin," Mr. Jackson says. "He was on my first record, `Me and Mr. Jones.'
