Punk, rock and their photographers came together in a near historic occasion Thursday at Chris Murray's Govinda Gallery in Georgetown, and it wasn't even Halloween.
The exhibit on the walls, "The Cool & The Crazy: Images of Punk," which stays up through Dec. 7, is composed of 80 images by 45 photographers capturing the essence - but more often the idols - of the scene.
Denizens from a generation that people may think is long past showed up and proved they are thriving (many of them) as performers of note and exciting subjects for (mostly) contemporary photographers. The people stay the same; only the definition changes.
