CHANGO! As I write this column, thunder and lightning sweep across the San Francisco Bay Area skies. The last few months have been filled with a charged up atmosphere at KPFA - Pacifica Radio where I've served as public affairs and music director for almost 20 years. A tenuous struggle for control of the station ignited when our parent Pacifica Foundation fired a popular manager in late March leading to an unprecedented on-air protest, a 23-day lockout of staff and a Pacifica takeover of the air.
