PARIS -- Less than a month after showing his first collection for Herve Leger, Eric Sartori is out.

Sartori, who succeeded Herve Leger as the head designer at the house Leger founded, said he was resigning over disagreements with management about the "direction of the house." He declined to comment further.

Max Azria, who bought 99 percent of Leger in October 1988, issued a statement from his headquarters in Los Angeles Thursday, stating he would assume design responsibilities for the label.

The release said that "Azria wants to focus on securing the spirit and design of Herve Leger," and that Sartori and Azria "have parted ways amicably."
