Article: Wearable computer gets a $2.8 million-deal boost.(Business)

Fairfax-based Xybernaut won a $2.8 million contract for wearable computers yesterday, signaling that more companies are willing to try the devices on for size.

Xybernaut said it will sell an estimated 500 of the devices to a subsidiary of Reston-based information technology company DynCorp, which will use the wearable computers to help with jobs from taking inventory to fixing helicopters.

It is the largest order for the portable devices Xybernaut has received, and one of the largest orders for wearable computers ever, analysts said.
