Nov. 2 -- Beleaguered Tri Valley Growers is shrinking again.

In the latest purge of its business, the San Ramon food processing giant on Monday told its sales agents in California and the Pacific Northwest that their jobs are being eliminated as the company shifts their responsibilities to an independent broker. It's possible some of the affected agents might be hired by the sales brokerage, but there is no way of telling yet because Tri Valley hasn't even identified the contractor yet, said company spokesman Steve Swasey.
