Oct. 31 -- Air Mobility Command today will activate a new unit at Scott Air Force Base that is expected to save tax dollars and bring as many as 200 new workers to the metro-east.
The Regional Supply Squadron, which will work directly under the command's headquarters, will consolidate stock control, records and funds management and computer and other support for Air Mobility Command bases across the country.
Centralizing control functions will allow flying wings to have leaner, more efficient supply shops, Air Force officials say. The new squadron at Scott will ultimately receive about 200 positions ...
