Nov. 2 -- Wal-Mart Stores plans to use the Metroplex as a proving ground for its newest type of store, Wal-Mart Neighborhood Market, a full-service grocery that will compete with supermarkets such as Winn-Dixie, Albertson's and Tom Thumb.
The chain plans open as many as 20 stores in the Metroplex, according to David Wilson, executive vice president of Cencor Realty Services, which specialize in grocery-store development.
Wal-Mart is planning to open a 40,000 square-foot Neighborhood Market by the end of next year in north Fort Worth's Park Glen at Basswood and Park Vista boulevards, Wal-Mart spokesman Keith ...
